Alternative Healing for veterans and their families

Veteran Sanctuary was created to build a community that provides a supportive culture where patients feel in control of their healing journey and growth process. With mindfulness education, the patient can interact with other members of Veteran Sanctuary and help each other in their path to preventing disease and achieve vibrant health.

At Sanctuary, we are dedicated to providing a holistic approach by honoring every individual physical, emotional, nutritional and spiritual well-being. We cultivate practitioners who apply highly skillful, educated, and compassionate touch with their patients to promote optimal health.

Together we heal

Our story

Veteran Sanctuary, is a holistic clinic focused on the needs of veterans and their families, who have served our community. Healing veterans was more than a calling for the husband and wife founders Dane and Takhinsha Hollis, it was a necessity. Dane a combat veteran himself struggled with serious injuries from his time in service and found healing in the western system unproductive. He was forced to find another path to healing. He began by using his GI Bill to study at many schools in the states. Ending up in San Diego, Ca. where he met Takhinsha at a massage School. Takhinsha a former high level Taekwondo fighter who won the Pan American games. Was on her own healing journey recovering from extreme headaches and physical pain from years of hard training. The two immediately connected over their passion for healing and a drive to find alternative paths.

After studying in the states it became apparent in order to find an alternative path they would have to get off the path they knew completely. Meaning they would have to leave the country. So they did putting themselves in the most remote regions of Asia and using their own bodies as guinea pigs. They vetted hundreds of styles and practitioners until first they healed themselves then mastered the approaches to heal others.

Veteran Sanctuary is the culmination of all the knowledge gain on these adventures. The philosophies found were simpler and more powerful than they ever imagined them to be. With the core philosophy of the medicine being rooted in an educated and empowered patient. So while Dane and Takhinsha both have bodywork and needling styles not seen in any other clinic in America which are incredibly powerful. They whole heartedly believe the true uniqueness of the clinic is in the way they spend time with patients. Teaching patients to listen and understand what there symptoms they are experiencing, are telling them. Then giving them the tools through lifestyle changes and personalized treatments to manage the symptoms.

Making adjustments to your lifestyle is difficult and requires a community. With that in mind it is our goal to grow our community into one that can support these changes.
