Prenatal Care, Traditional Labor Prep, Postpartum Care

You were never meant to walk the path of motherhood alone. In traditional medicines, a mother was held as sacred, a bearer of worlds, guided by the hands of midwives, elders, and community.

Pregnancy and birth were not solitary journeys, but ceremonies of transformation, where a woman stepped into her power, supported, seen, and honored. You are meant to be witnessed, to be nurtured, to be carried as you carry life.

Traditional Chinese and Mesoamerican Medicine

  • Labor Prep

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), preparing for labor focuses on strengthening the mother’s Qi, Blood, and Kidney energy, relaxing the body, and ensuring a smooth and safe delivery.

In Mesoamerican medicine the womb (uterus) holds profound spiritual, emotional, and physical significance. It is not simply a reproductive organ but a cosmic center, a seat of creative power, memory, identity, and ancestral connection.

Childbirth is both a physiological and spiritual act. The womb is seen as a portal between worlds, connecting the spiritual realm to earthly life.

With a blend of Traditional Chinese and Mesoamerican Medicine therapies, the body, mind and spirit are able to be open, strong, and balanced. While also:

    Support cervical ripening

    Encourage optimal fetal positioning

    Reduce the risk of complications

    Shorten the duration of labor

Promote emotional calm and physical readiness

  • Postpartum Care

Chinese medicine and Mesoamerican Medicine have a long-standing tradition of supporting postpartum care, known as "zuò yuè zi"  and “La Cuarentena”, which translates to “sitting the month.” This period typically lasts 30 to 40 days after childbirth and emphasizes rest, restoration, and nourishment.

Childbirth is a process that depletes a woman's Qi (vital energy) and Blood. The body is considered to be in a "cold" state, requiring warming and tonifying therapies to restore balance.

Chinese Medicine and Mesoamerican medicine help regulate hormones levels, warm the uterus, alleviate depression, improve lactation and restore balance.

It may also release stored emotions or trauma related to birth or motherhood and to provide closure physically and energetically after the expansive experience of giving birth.

Our Services

Beginning at 36 weeks.

This is where the ceremony begins.A distinct stage, a shift from preparation into practice. Together we ready your body, spirit, and breath for the moment you meet your baby.

Breathwork, meditation, and the sacred space draws you into a deeper part of your self. We mimic the landscape of labor low light, sacred smoke, a hypnotic stillness so your body learns the space it will return to.

Then targeted bodywork, acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping - releasing what you've been carrying.

PA RT N E R S WELCOME

In dedicated sessions, partners learn acupressure with essential oil techniques to support you through labor.

Beginning two weeks after birth.

If labor prep opens, postpartum closes. We begin with space for your birth story, for what you carry from it, to be heard. We check in on feeding, sleeping, healing, and how you and your baby are finding each other.

Then the postpartum ritual: a focused full-body massage weaving palm pressing and skin rolling with acupuncture, cupping, and traditional mother roasting.

After labor, everything is open your channels, your tissues, your spirit. These practices warm, protect, and gently close what birth asked you to open.
