Labor Prep
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), preparing for labor focuses on strengthening the mother’s Qi, Blood, and Kidney energy, relaxing the body, and ensuring a smooth and safe delivery.
In Mesoamerican medicine the womb (uterus) holds profound spiritual, emotional, and physical significance. It is not simply a reproductive organ but a cosmic center, a seat of creative power, memory, identity, and ancestral connection.
Childbirth is both a biological and spiritual act. The womb is seen as a portal between worlds, connecting the spiritual realm to earthly life.
With a blend of Traditional Chinese and Mesoamerican Medicine therapies, the body, mind and spirit are able to be open, strong, and balanced. While also:
Support cervical ripening
Encourage optimal fetal positioning
Reduce the risk of complications
Shorten the duration of labor
Promote emotional calm and physical readiness

Postpartum Care
Chinese medicine and Mesoamerican Medicine have a long-standing tradition of supporting postpartum care, known as "zuò yuè zi" and “La Cuarentena”, which translates to “sitting the month.” This period typically lasts 30 to 40 days after childbirth and emphasizes rest, restoration, and nourishment.
Childbirth is a process that depletes a woman's Qi (vital energy) and Blood. The body is considered to be in a "cold" state, requiring warming and tonifying therapies to restore balance.
Chinese Medicine and Mesoamerican medicine help regulate hormones levels, warm the uterus, alleviate depression, improve lactation and restore balance.
It may also release stored emotions or trauma related to birth or motherhood and to provide closure physically and energetically after the expansive experience of giving birth.
